We have began the harvest of maize at Tomosi's Farm, which is one of the ingredients used in silage production.
Silage is grass or other green fodder compacted and stored in airtight conditions, typically in a silo, without first being dried, and used as animal feed in the winter or during the season when pastures have dried up.
Silage is preserved pasture. Making silage is an important way for farmers to feed cows and sheep during times when pasture isn't good, such as the dry season.
