On Saturday 1st April 2017, the Chinese delegation visited Tomosi's farm with a tour of the prospects for beef in the area.
China imported 314,000 metric tonnes of beef in 2015 from Australia, Canada, India, Vietnam and Brazil. The price of a pound of beef is USD5.06, about USD8 a kilo. Our beef costs less than USD2.5 a kilo and it is largely organic. Can we not come together as beef ranchers and exploit this market? This is what we are interesting this team in the cattle corridor using the dairy example at the Tomosi's farm today.
The delegation were treated to the Farm's presentation, the spraying of ticks, tree planting tradition at Tomosi's farm and the visit to Lake Mburo National Park.
